HelioElectric is an electrical contracting business owned by Baran Galocy, an electrician licensed since 1991. Baran is a former NABCEP-Certified Solar PV Installer and holds himself to the highest standards of professional conduct. He refused to re-instate his NABCEP certification when the requirements became too bureacratic by requiring paid 3rd party verification of installations above and beyond owner satisfaction forms and copies of building department compliance. The organization means well but means nothing to too many people. HelioElectric has a long and proud history of working with Owner/Builders, Do-It-Yourselfers, and those seeking to save money and learn while doing. There is nothing more satisfying than watching your PGE meter "spin" backwards because of a PV system that you helped to install. We can set you up with anything and everything that you need . . . paperwork, supervision, troubleshooting, or the entire installation. You decide - we work for you! We can provide all of the parts as well as a ten-year warranty on their replacement, or you can find your "best Internet deal" and work out the warranty issues with your parts provider. We can assist at an hourly rate or contract any aspect of the installation that you do not feel comfortable with. Why pay us big bucks for labor if you are good with a wrench and can hold a shovel.

Even more important is the ability to help your community and learn something about an exciting new technology that is here to stay. HelioElectric is proud to partner with Grid Alternatives as a Shasta County volunteer, working with and directing those who wish to contribute and learn more about photovoltaic theory and installation.
INNOVATING FOR PV INSTALLERS
Baran currently holds a patent for a simple tool that helps installer more easily carry PV panels at a jobsite. The tool is called a Panel Handler and is comprised of a rounded plastic block that sits comfortably in your hand, with a channel on the top side that engages the downward wrapped backside of the PV frame. By holding the PV panel with the Panel Handler, you distribute the weight of the panel to over ten times as much surface area of your fingers. This results in a PV panel that is easier to carry with less strain and risk of stress-injury. The Panel Handler is being locally fabricated in small quantities.
